Connect, disconnect, lock out: one part
The receptacle and the switch are one unit: the circuit cannot be made or broken under load, and the handle takes a lock. Service from where you stand, IP67 sealed where the water hits. Series II pin and sleeve, 20 to 100 A at 125 to 480 V, UL Listed and CSA Certified together.
One feed in, outlets where the gear is
Distribution assemblies with breaker protection built in, shipped wired and ready, and finished drops built to length in Somerset, New Jersey. One incoming feed in place of a row of conduit runs, so the outlets sit where the equipment lands and move when the layout does.
DC on the site: battery, solar, charging
A battery, a PV string or a charger feed does not zero-cross, so the contactor has to clear the arc itself. Schaltbau DC contactors use permanent-magnet arc blowout in an open chamber, bidirectional, to 3,000 V: charge and discharge through the same device, isolation you can trust when the site battery faults.
The heater relay that reports its own state
Solid state relays for electric heat, process heaters and reheat zones, 4 to 125 A single and three phase, with relays and plug-on modules that report mains, load and protection status. A broken element drops the load current and the relay flags it, before a day of product is made wrong.

Protection, and the DC isolator for site solar
UL-approved miniature circuit breakers, motor circuit breakers, RCBOs and surge protection for the auxiliary and control circuits, mechanical AC disconnects, and the SI Series TRUE DC isolator (UL 508, 8 million units installed since 2009) where a PV string needs a real air gap.

Which start sets the peak
PM17x PRO on the service records demand the way the tariff bills it and stamps every event to 1 microsecond, so the chiller start that landed on the peak is a line in a log, not an argument. Demand is set in minutes and paid all month; seeing which minutes is the first step to moving them.
Cost by building, area and process
BFM-II meters up to 54 single-phase or 18 three-phase circuits from one DIN-rail unit, against two voltage sources. Chillers, air handlers, the lab wing and each production line get their own kWh, so a department has a cost and the idle weeks have a number.
Sags recorded, not remembered
PRO Series: a Class 0.2S revenue meter and a Class A Edition 3.1 power quality analyzer in one instrument. Sags, swells, interruptions and unbalance logged with their time and depth, so the trip at shift change has a cause on file. AC and DC on the same platform, DC to 1,500 V for the site battery.
Chillers, boilers and gensets into the BMS
The equipment already has an RS-232 or RS-485 port. Ethernet-to-serial puts it on the network; remote I/O picks up states, flows and temperatures at the sensor and presents them as Modbus TCP devices the building system polls. The controls are never opened, the equipment logic never touched.
Foundation
Power distribution blocks and high-current terminals
Finger-safe splits from the incoming feed to the zone loads, stud and bolt terminals for the big conductors, and the DIN-rail blocks, marking and KDS split cable entry around them. Less exposed copper, faster fit-out.
Junction boxes built for outside
COMBI junction boxes to IP66, UV and ozone resistant, quarter-turn lids, membrane entries that need no locknut, plus glands, venting and the Brace conduit system. Made by a company that started on ship installations in 1919.
