We often get asked about the current carrying capacity of our push-in terminal blocks.
Our PRK terminals have been tested for a current withstand according to IEC 60947-7-1/2. The Terminals are tested 3 times in a row with a current of 120A/1mm² cross section for 1 second and have to pass the test without any damage.
PRK 1,5mm² can withstand 180A for 1 second
PRK 2,5mm² can withstand 300A for 1 second
PRK 4mm² can withstand 480A for 1 second
PRK 6mm² can withstand 720A for 1 second
FYI ... we also have screw type terminal blocks that can withstand 28,800A for 1 second, RK 240.
