The SATEC Products That Earn Their Panel Space
Every meter vendor publishes accuracy classes and protocol lists. This page is the shorter list: the SATEC instruments that do something structurally different, and the detail on each that a datasheet comparison will not surface.

What the datasheet will not tell you: the same instrument also meters DC. Add U-HACS sensors and the VRM module and the PRO Series does revenue-grade DC measurement to 1,500V DC, so a facility with both AC distribution and a DC bus (solar, BESS, EV charging) runs one platform and one software layer instead of two vendors.

What the datasheet will not tell you: the upgrade math. If a facility standardized on PM17x years ago, moving to current Class A compliance is a device swap, not a panel redesign and not a SCADA rework. That is usually the difference between an upgrade that happens and one that stays on the someday list.

What the datasheet will not tell you: most utility-grade metering lines stop at AC. When a grid-services battery or a charging site needs settlement-quality numbers on the DC side, the vendor list gets very short, and the ones that exist are usually a separate platform from your AC metering. SATEC's DC metering is the same PRO Series instrument and the same software.

Up to 54 single-phase or 18 three-phase circuits monitored from a single modular unit, with per-circuit harmonics to the 25th, time-of-use registers, and SCADA-ready protocols (DNP3, IEC 60870, BACnet). Measures against two independent voltage sources, so a panel fed by both a transformer and a parallel PV installation reads correctly.

The DFR variant captures waveforms and records fault currents to 40 times nominal across the monitored feeders, which means the panel that does your sub metering is also the witness when a breaker event needs explaining. (First-generation BFM136, 36 single-phase or 12 three-phase circuits, UL Listed for US and Canada, remains available as the value option.)

What the datasheet will not tell you: at a CAISO settlement point you do not get to pick from the whole market. The authorized list is a handful of vendors, SATEC is one of them, and approval is configuration-specific. We verify the exact configuration against the requirement at quote time, before it becomes a commissioning surprise.
HACS High Accuracy Current Sensors
The reason the accuracy class survives.
Current sensors from 10A to 3,000A that act as the primary CT with a milliamp output direct to the meter. Solid-core accuracy 0.1 percent. Cable runs to 650 feet. An internal protection circuit means no shorting blocks at disconnect.

What the datasheet will not tell you: this is where most metering accuracy quietly dies. A precision meter behind an ordinary external CT inherits the CT's error, and the installed system never performs to the number on the meter datasheet. One CT in the chain instead of two is the whole point.
